Two Lakes.

Chapter 22

Two Lakes!

After a day (and a few weeks of running around), we took the kids out to dinner. For most, it’s a normal thing, but for my family, we don’t actually get a lot of time to dine at restaurants as a family. I know it sounds weird, but that’s just our story.

We decided to go to Wood Ranch at Dos Lagos, and much to our amazement we found this view! It was such a sweet surprise. I am the picture guy in my family – I use visual representation to evoke emotion and that’s my thing. (Benny is similar too) but Holly and Kat are different in their own special ways. I usually have to beg or be creative in capturing the moment, but for the first time ever my wife said let’s take a picture (even when I use Selfies like they are going out of business) – she said let’s take a selfie! Then my little girl, Holly, for the first time ever… grabbed and held my arm and smiled while we all got into our FIRST FAMILY SELFIE PICTURE, where we all
intentionally and purposely smiled at the camera. For my family unit,
this was a special moment.

My daughter is so independent and has fierce determination and confidence in everything she does. In this moment, to see her soften a little and grab her “daddy’s arm” for the first time really meant a lot for me. It was a sweet moment for all of us.

All in all, the time we got to spend together was amazing. We were able to go around the lake and look at the Koi Fish, turtles, and ducks… the kids loved it. And that Sunset… breathtaking. Never in my right mind did I even believe after such a busy time lately, we would come across this little paradise.

At dinner, when we sat down and the host handed over the crayons and kids coloring page, Holly flipped it over and doodles this with three minutes. She is talented and creative. Their first Woodranch and “sit-down” restaurant experience with their Mommy and Daddy was awesome. I can only imagine the future where we all get to sit down together and enjoy each others’ company.

Moral of the Story: Life is crazy. There are some really hard times… but it is those experiences that truly allows you to embrace the magnificent ones when they occur. Cherish every moment you have in life – there are no guarantees. Be the best you can be – embrace every moment.

I hope you all have a Blessed Day!
